Roses drink more than you might expect—especially when air conditioning and Gulf humidity alternate through the day. Start with a scrupulously clean vase and cool water.
Trim stems at a 45° angle under running water, remove leaves below the waterline, and refresh the vase daily. A sachet of flower food helps, but changing the water matters more.
Keep arrangements away from direct sunlight, ripening fruit, and radiator vents. In Sharjah apartments, a shaded console or dining table often outlasts a bright windowsill.
If petals begin to curl at the edges, re-cut stems and move the bouquet to a cooler room overnight—many roses recover with a fresh drink.
